Materials Uniquely Suited to the Environment--
Plastic belting is available in a variety of materials for your particular application. Polypropylene (PP) belt is a thermoplastic material with excellent chemical resistance against acids and alkalines in temperatures above 50 degrees F. Polyethylene (PE) also has excellent chemical resistance and is suitable for very low temperatures and high impact applications. Acetal (AC) belt is a high strength, high impact and cut resistant material recommended for applications with heavy loads and low temperatures. It has good chemical resistance against oils and alkalines, but long term contact with acids and chlorine is not
recommended. High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) is a good low cost material suitable for most applications with moderate load and low speed, while Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW PE) offers reduced wear and longer life for heavy loads. All of these materials are FDA approved.
